i have a squier p-bass ans i was looking into buying a 5string but ran into the same problem IM NOT FLEA AND I NEVER USE MY G STRING so i was thinking about converting my E A D G setup to a B E A D so its like i had a 5 string without the annoying G
is that acually possible without snapping the neck.
please set me down the right path

Sure - they do it with guitars all the time.

Yes this can be done with no danger to the neck but you will probably need to tweek the truss rod for the higher tension, slightly widen the nut slot and possibly raise the action on the saddles for optimal playbility.

Hmmm. Glad to hear that. I am a briefs man myself.

Ive got a 5 string that has the exact same neck as the 4 string model. Just with a different nut and one more tuner on the headstock. Mines a samick but I have seen yamahas that were made this way. They are also the only ones I find comfortable.
