But, for much the same expressed reason that this forum has lost too many excellent people in recent years, I'll never allow myself be dragged too far into an exchange that lacks basic consideration of each other as distant colleagues and fellow human beings ...
Actually, in a way, I think the fact that you seem to hold yourself above everyone else -- as if you're somehow immune to all of these forms of negativity you so despise -- kind of makes you come accross as being arrogant. And if you want to talk about "an exchange that lacks basic consideration," how about
your own comments in this downer of a thread that you authored as exhibit A?
The fact that you treat people on this board not as human beings but rather as lab rats for your "students" to study kind of reduces a lot of people on this board to a "less-than-human" state. Or perhaps more appropriately "less than our civilized and morally superior Jeffree."
What it all boils down to is message versus delivery. I can say "You're an idiot," as long as I say it in a sensitive and respectful manner. As an example: "I fear that your sentiments may be misinformed" is just a sensitive way of saying "You're full of hot air," yet the message is the same.
Masking your comments in political correctness doesn't change the heart of the message. In fact,
your initial post in this thread and all of your subsequent commentary contained within could be viewed as being, dare I say, a "childish" airing or your contempt, disrespect, and feelings of moral superiority towards others you interact with; more specifically the members on this board. Only the childish antics are rationalized by placing them in the context of a (scientifically flawed) study of human behavior. One could even go so far as to theorize that Jeffree is not only a willing participant in all of this "childishness," but is, in fact, one of the chief instigators.
In summary, I think the most interesting test subject in your little study is, in fact, the one(s) conducting it. A very revealing and thought-provoking irony.
