and as a wierd,bass-efx unit during comp'ing!

Sorry, Chess.... you know I often support your posts, but not this time. I'm a school teacher with top qualifications and about 6 years experience, which puts me in about the middle of the pay grid. I have a mortgage, line of credit, credit cards, and student loans that I'm paying off. Student loans are setting me back about $600/month. I have three kids, and a gas-guzzling mini-van to haul them around in.

To help make ends meet, I've started teaching guitar privately again just this year, on TOP of my 60-hour-ish work week, as our mortgage comes up for renewal in January. I suppose I COULD have saved about $700 by downloading cracks of the software I use, but I insist on going legit.

As a result, my "big purchase" this summer is a PowerPlay Pro headphone distribution amp, a couple more pairs of headphones, and some balanced cables.

When I can afford more, I'll upgrade more. $175US for me is a lot of money.

I don't think it's fair to be so smug to make those sorts of comments about the questionable sources of income that others might have.

Hehe.... I hear ya. (just barely above that blasted ringin' in my ears from listenin to too much metal... ) I change my strings about 3x a year - mostly for that very reason!

Oh, yeah... back to the topic. FWIW, I have the Composer Pro MDX2200 and have been TOTALLY happy with it. It cost me about $150 Canadian, which is about $100 US. That was my big purchase LAST summer!
