As a result, my "big purchase" this summer is a PowerPlay Pro headphone distribution amp, a couple more pairs of headphones, and some balanced cables.
When I can afford more, I'll upgrade more. $175US for me is a lot of money.
I don't think it's fair to be so smug to make those sorts of comments about the questionable sources of income that others might have.

Hehe.... I hear ya. (just barely above that blasted ringin' in my ears from listenin to too much metal...
) I change my strings about 3x a year - mostly for that very reason!
Oh, yeah... back to the topic. FWIW, I have the Composer Pro MDX2200 and have been TOTALLY happy with it. It cost me about $150 Canadian, which is about $100 US. That was my big purchase LAST summer!
