Ok, lbanks did a sweet, jazzy version of Drummer Boy...He called it Bummer Droy. I used the original words, as I couldn't do much with it, other than bastardize it my way.
If'n you want, listen up....It's at least entertaining...... My Drummer Boy
thanks! i recorded it for a local christmas comp. all proceeds went to the local hospital and the association for the arts. the drums, like pretty much everything i do, were done with 'groove agent'.. so i really can't take any credit for it's coolness.
This thread went really well; and we have plenty of time, let's rev it back up!! Post up your best Christmas tunes! Let's get the peace and love flowing early this year!
I posted my Silent Night arrangement in post 1, but here it is if'n you're down here on page 5:
Nice - Llarion! I'm so in, this season. I've let two of them pass with plenty of equipment sitting idle. Not anymore!!
I used to wait tables in Omaha, and Chip Davis was a semi-regular, and so we played his Mannheim Steamroller Christmas CD all the time during the holidays -- I grew to loathe it from the repetition (but not Chip - cool guy, and he's got the whole Convoy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFYmcFKSjXI&feature=related) thing going on, if I recall correctly), but the whole time I thought, "I can, and someday will, do better"
Nice! From an arrangement perspective, I think my ear was looking for a little more of a drone or pedal point, but this is a sweet and charming interpretation!
