I love this, some very enjoyable good old Christmas blues. That's so impressive how you record too. You can really feel the raw emotion in the track that way. Someone as talented as you should never stop making music!
Happy Holidays to you too

Dude, this kicks. You are one "Maniacal Musician". You pop out tunes quicker than I can drink beer.... :D
Very cool song. Just a kicken bluesy rocker. Nice sounds, and well mixed. You are talented. Happy Holidays, and thanks for putting a smile on my face... :D

dogman & Snakedog50/50& chris harris: Thanks so much for listening to my music. I have learned a ton on the gear forums here. I am blessed to have my own little studio. All my life I dreamed of this. Being able to go out there day or night, and just wait for the computer to fire up, and off I go. The home recording phenomenon is a godsend to people like me. Happy holidays to you two! Walter

I am off to check your sites tomorrow.

hi dolod44: Thanks! On my left foot, I use a double bass drum pedal to work the bass drum and snare, a high hat on my right foot, a tokai copy of a 335, harp on a rack, and fender deluxe reverb, reissue, with a THD Hotplate, so I can play it at talking level. THe amp is about 3 feet behind me. You can see it here.

for recording, I use:

2- AKG C414's, one on vocal/harp, and one the front of the guitar cabinet. THes go through the EH pre amps

RODENT1A on the back of the guitar cabinet, going through a ART TPSII preamp

Oktava mc012 small condesor on the snare, going through a EH pre amp

Oktava MC012(both russian made with the 3 capsule set) small condensor, going through a ART TPSII, on the high hat.

All into a delta 1010 soundcard, and samplitute master v-8 software.

I was at my friends house and saw what I thought was a 335, leaning, strings against the wall, in his music room. I said "man, a 335!" I have always wanted one. He said it was a MIK Tokai, and he wanted to sell it. It was about 3 months old, and wanted $400. I played it, and was amazed at how it sounded. I took it home to play it through my amp, and ended up taking the amp and guitar, to the local gibson music shop. I played it for over an hour, against a brand new 335. It was just as good construction and playability wise, and smoked it, IMO, tones wise.

My main guitar(20 years), to this point, was a 1963 fender jazzmaster, that Lonnie mack used on a bunch of 60's recordings. He gave it to SRV as a thank you, when they did Lonnie's album. Stevie in turn passed it to me, when I hit austin, with only a kay type, fat hollowbody, that fed back, if you turned it much passed shouting level. THis guitar is sweet, but it has been in the case, since I got the tokai, last december.

It is great being in total control. I forced myself, and continue to learn, how to record. I spent tons of time in studios, with results that usually sounded great, but not the way I wanted it to sound. Now, all my sounds, good or bad, are on me. THis freedom is a gift.

Hey Walter--I've got a 335 Gibson --it was a gift from my girlfriend in 1995  :D I love that thing...just curious--I have been wanting to put heavy strings on it to see how it will hold up(like 012s)---Do you have any experience with this?I have only ever used extra lights on it.Are there any provblems with this??I have come across people who have used really heavy strings on it--but I want to make sure...

I am honored you asked me about guitar gear! I know basically nothing about the guitar, other than to tune it and play it. I use 10's on my tokai, and it could handle 11-12's I would think. Here is some information I do know from my days of the SRV heyday in austin. Stevie got real famous using heavy strings, so everyone in austin, so it seemed, rushed to do the same. Most people couldn't deal with them- hand pain, big time, after awhile. Stevie and Charlie sexton invited my wife and I to his last Austin city limits show, that had him and WC Clark and friends. I was backstage (and had front row seats-what a show!), and noticed his guitars appeared to no longer be running 12's. Most guys I know today using 12's, use them on national steel guitars, for slide. I use 10's on my 1940 national style O, and I think they sound fine. Albert King used something like 8's! Walter
