I say lay off of the reatune. I think it isn't helping much just making that strange vocal effect. This song needs the authenticity that you're giving it, just without the reatune sound. It's making the vocals come through weird. It does get boomy ... but I like the boomyness when the chorus comes in. It strikes a good chord with me. The dynamic change comes through well and fills in nicely. I think your vocals are very upfront in the mix. Maybe if you pull them back a bit it will sound a little better. Cool song. Cool rendition of it at least, is this your derivative of the real song? Good performance. :)
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I'll give it a try without the ReaTune and see what it sounds like. I know it's probably in need of retracking once I get home. I found a vocal coach who will work with me for free (she coaches the praise and worship team at my church, and they sound 1000% better since she started there). I will see what happens next.

As far as the tune goes, I redid the arrangement to suit how I felt it should sound. I've heard it played one hundred different ways, and have played it a few different ways in just as many keys. I've always felt it was a song to make you get out of the pew and dance in the aisles, and that's what I tried to convey.

Thanks for the listen!

I agree with what everyone else is saying about the vox. It sounds like some kind of weird warbly chorus thing going on. It's just kind of a mess. It's a nice song and your music performances are great, it's just whatevers going on with the vocals aint working. Go back to square one and re-sing it. :)

I agree with you 100% there, Greg... I will be doing that when I get home again.
