First I need to mention. Everything is composed and recorded by me. The exception is the vocals that for now is an AI placeholder. I've still composed the vocal tune. I used a mix of guitar and my own voice to record the melody and had AI replace my singing to get a feel of what it'll sound like. I have a horrible voice and found that this process is great for my friend who actually can sing instead of me trying to explain he has this AI blueprint to follow. It'll probably be a while before we find the time to actually record however.

How does the mix sound so far? I've been trying to get the snare drum to sound good in the chorus. During the verse it's just a digital snare but I wanted to use accoustic drums in the chorus. I tried mixing in a digital snare with the accoustic one in the chorus to make it a bit fatter. Does it sound good or does it still need some tweaking? I would love to get something really huge like the snare drum from "Muse - Guiding Light", but I can't seem to get it to sound that huge and snappy.

I really like the feel of the organ, but does it get to messy in the chorus?

Would love some overall feedback on the song and mix and how I can improve it.

Cheers! :)

Post it with a real singer. AI music isn't music.

I think this is really great. Cool composition. Interesting song. Dig the lyrics and the subject matter. I like everything about it. But I also absolutely agree that it would be that much more impressive if you had a human being singing that part or something close to it. But yeah generally well done sir.

We've talked about this here before. I just wanted to mention that I appreciate you being transparent about the AI vocal. :thumbs up:

Yeah when it comes to AI I'm against including it in the final product and using it for composing. But I do find that it has its uses. I find it extremely useful to visualise melodies for vocals. I can have a melody for the vocals but when I record with my own voice it just sounds awful. Turning my own voice to AI as a temporary blueprint/placeholder while still having composed the actual melody have been exremely helpful to get a feel of what it could sound like from an actual singer.

As I mentioned, I fully intend to get this recorded, and the AI blueprint speeds up the process since the singer can just listen and replicate.

FIFY. Human singers gonna sing. May take several tryouts until you find the one that interprets it the way you like. That's what gives the music life.

I love the vibe and the actual quality, bar that horrible sounding wobbly organ it sounds so out of place when it's is the only thing doing chords and it has that nasty rigid three finger chord up and down thing. It spoils it. I actually like the AI vocal and everything else.

Yes ofcourse, the blueprint is mainly to get an idea of the melody and rhythm, it won't sound exactly like this. Interprets works much better thanks :)

Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to try something different and an organ came to mind since it started out as a space themed song. I would like to keep it somehow, maybe I could tweak it to fit better. I'll defenitely take a closer look at it, thanks :)

I was just going to say this has a very Radiohead feel to it, early Radiohead. Then I saw you mention Muse and I always thought they were very similar. Have to admire your honesty about the AI aspect. There are some other songwriter sites where that honesty is not on display.

This WILL be a good song, but for me until there's a human singing it, I will never be able to really connect with it. I can see the appeal as I am not a singer either, but I think our human frailties are more palatable than a pristine AI computer generated pastiche of emotion. Structurally, you are building in dynamics from the start, quiet verses, loud emotive choruses, so that's all good. I feel the drums are too distant in the verses, and the song feels a bit halting because of that. That may well be the effect you're intending, but I thought I'd just point it out.

Yeah the second part of the solo is very inspired by Radioheads Creep :) Yeah I really don't like when people are dishonest about using AI, and I would never use it myself when composing or include it in the final product. It has however been really helpful to visualize my already composed vocals before getting my friend to sing, so I do think it has its uses.

With the drums, do you mean that they have to much reverb and sound far away or that there's just to little happening with them?

Thanks for taking the time to listen and give feedback! :)
