DJL,

Why the obsessive interest in 797..........I think it would be far more informative to get accurate listing on Fielo and Soundking as well as 797. Although even if such a list was available, it would likely be out of date in a month or two.

DJL, the pictures don't look too accurate to me, the perspective seems somewhat distorted, and, as I said, 797 changed their design; the NT2 looks like the old design. If you can find a picture of an old BPM-model (CR73, not CR73 II) or the Langevin mic, you'll see that they look like the NT2. The Behringer mics look similar as well, except for the grill. In any case, the newsgroup article proves that the NT2 is (mostly?, entirely?) a 797 mic.

Ausrock, check www.feilo-china.com (mind the spelling, it's feilo, not fielo) and www.soundking.com. What irritates me, though, is that some of the soundking mics use the same housings as either Tenlux or Feilo mics, so it'll be hard to tell which mics are made by whom. There's another manufacturer named Yoga http://www.yoga.com.tw/
Tenlux has been offline for quite some time, their website was http://www.tenlux.com.tw/

In Germany, at least, most of the house brand OEM mics for large retailers (or "mic de jour," as I call them) are made by Feilo. But, as I said, it's getting harder and harder to tell mics and manufacturers apart.

Obviously because the B2 is an NT2, both mics are shipped unassembled, Rode to austrailia, Behringer to the US.

i just found out the peak audio mics that are made by 797 aren't cheap..$830.. sh!t. i'll go get a name brand mic or 2 mics..
damn a baby bottle i bet sounds better i can get them abut$425-450

The only obsessive interest I have is in girls, lol. But, I am a mic junky and I do think BEIJING 797 AUDIO makes some great mic's for Studio Projects so I'd like to know what other companies BEIJING 797 AUDIO Co.,Ltd makes mic's for.

Does anyone have a list?

There are some things you should keep in mind. Many mics are off the shelf and have no changes. Some brands that come out of the same factory make claims that they have made changes, but many do not.

This is why we keep our doors open. We have had several people into our facility to see how we design and what we do. The reason we get what we get from 797 is that it is built to our exact specification. If it is not, we dont accept it.

We design our mics, not pick them from a a catalog. So while other brands may claim they do design, I would like to see their design team and their R&D Department. They can surely see mine.

797 sells parts to RODE, and they build some models for Berringer and ADK, but the bulk of the stuff comes out of Feilo and SoundKing. All of our models are built by 797.

So, Rossi, I gotta ask.

What are the names of some of those U87 knock offs in Germany?

Thank you for the info Alan.

U87 knockoffs? You mean the "mic de jour"! ;) In Germany they're sold, for instance, as "T.bone" or "Stagg" or "Fame."

Alan,

This is a mic "from" Peak Audio in Melbourne. Notice the 797 logo........any ideas what is going on here?

Peak Audio are either associated with, or owned by CMI, one of the major music equipment importers based in Melbourne.

It is not a 797 Logo. What it is is the three pattern logos for Omni Cardioid, and Figure Of Eight. It looks like the same mic as their CR998, but didin't someone say they were expensive???

I am at the factory 2nd week of February. We are bringing them new technology that will improve the capsules. I am sure they will use this for all their capsules, so the other companies that buy from 797 will benefit from our design and technology.

That's the way it goes... Anyway, I will find out more on the Peak..

Oh, Alanhyatt.... what the heck would you know anything about mics??!!

I'll maybe try flaming Harvey instead....

Well, it appears that BEIJING 797 AUDIO is making mic's for Peak Audio also, no?

Appearances can be deceiving. I wonder if anyone has registered that design as a trademark, etc., or if it is free to all.

I've known a panty or two to get in a wad over it from time to time, but it's not as bad as one would think.
