Sounding good joeym :D

As one of the previous posters noted, I noticed some sibilance on the vocals in the intro/verse. The singing is awesome though, and I'm loving the harmonies.

The hi-hat floats above the mix a tad too much in my opinion. I'd drop it down a bit if that's at all possible.

Other than those minor nitpicks, good stuff man.

Thanx Doc!
I'll tackle the issue with the sibilance and the hihat in the next mix.
Glad you like it! :):):)

The length is perfect for an 80's type tune. Long songs are not a trademark of the 80's at all. That would be the 70's, with all the prog rock bands. The 80's were the decade of the 3 minute "hit" tune.

Right you are, Rami.....
it was the age of fast 1-hit wonders! :D

Excellent, Joey!

I listened the last 2 songs you posted , and I talked about the lack of bass guitar in "zero..." song, which I have in my HD.Comparing, "can´t face" has a far better bass response (at least to my taste).
Voice performance (and tone) is fantastic.Guitar job, needless to say, superb as always.

C o n g r a t s !

Ciro

Nice to hear from you Ciro!
Yeah the bass was recorded by Chris DI'd, I'll have to discover his secret....it's got more meat to it than mine :D He also played the guitar solos, that's one thing I can't beat.
Thanx for the compliments! :):):):)

Excellent job all around on this tune Joey. I've no nits just thought I'd express my enjoyment at listening to your stuff, as always. You co-writer is equally gifted and plays a mean guitar! :D

Hope to hear more of your wonderful stuff soon.

Sounds good dude. It's not my favorite Joey tune, but most of it sounds very well done. Again, as I think it was with the last tune you posted, the distorted rhythm guitars seem to lack some balls to me. They're nice and crunchy, but seem to lack some midrange meat. The lead and harmony stuff sounds great. It just seems to be the rhythms. Vocals are incredible as usual. Good job overall. :)

Hey thanx, Greg!
Yeah, I really have to rethink my tone when tracking I think...otherwise I can't think of anything else. This isn't my final mix though, so I'll be trying to fix them. Thanx for the compliments and for reserructing this!;)

When's your next one coming? :)

Maybe next week some time I'll have a new original done. I started out with high hopes for it, but now that it's basically finished, I'm not so sure I like it anymore. I need to get away from it for a few days and go fishing. :D

Great tune, loving that piano, sounds great. The vocals may be a tiny bit too wet for my taste? The layered vocals sound awesome, really remind me of that song "Harvest Moon" by Bedlam. Excellent work!

Thanx Paul!
I tried to pull back the reverb on the voice but since it's an 80's style ballad it just sounded on top of everything. What I'm looking for is that stadium feel with this one, kind of like Journey's "Faithfully". Working on a new mix right now, so I 'll be posting again soon.

Cheers :):):)

Hey Joey, I couldn't get the new mix to open either, all it said was 'wrong song'...anyway I listened to the first mix and all seems great with it. Keys sound full and the vocals & harmonies are outstanding as usual.
Is that the new Epi Les Paul on the solos? You know, I had originally thought about modding the pickups on mine, but everytime I play it I ask myself 'Why?'
It kicks ass as it is!:D

Hey Tony!

That's Chris with his cheap Westone on the main solos. Goes to show that a great player can still get a good sound out of a cheap guitar....:o
The harmony solos, I played with my ESP, cos I didn't have my EPI yet. With the EPI I only managed to play 2 rythm tracks. I quite like the PU's on my EPi, she's got a nice warm sound....... and it really does kick ass the way it is!

Thanx for the comments!

PS: looking forward to your tracks on Rokket's song....:)

Good tune Joey. I really liked the tone on the leads. Im not a power ballad type guy, but this fits right in. Your always gonna have people who dont like a reverb on a vocal or a guitar tone, but its what you, or your band like. I never critique a tone (unless its real bad). I focus on the levels or overall mix. Thank goodness all tones are not the same or it would be cookie cutter music.
