I thought it sounded pretty good. I am not one to get all analytical about frequencies or guitar sounds and stuff so hopefully someone else can do that but I thought the vocals were very good.

Thanx Jordan!
I'm just like you, I tend to listen to the song first....:):):)

I'm the same way. I'm actually not very good at it. If I like a song, I'll think everything is good unless something is obviously way off.

Joey, you have a great voice, and this is a very good tune. I like the harmony guitars, too. Nice piano. Once again, I have to say I love your voice. You're a great singer.

Thanx Rami, really appreciate your opinion! :)
I guess it does sound a bit 80's, but that's not necessarily bad...:D

My pleasure amigo! Where are you these days, in Germany or Malta? There used to be a Maltesian guy whose name escapes me at the moment working in the Madrid circuit and was pretty good. Haven't seen him in years. If you ever come thru Spain gimme a holler.

I'm in Germany now, returned in 2001. Don't know if I'll ever be returning to Malta permanently, but I've sworn not to die here..... :D
Got some friends in Saragozza, if I ever get to visit there, I'll definitely give you a holler, thanks! ;)

There's some sibilance over the intro verse.
There's something I don't like about the 1st bass note - don't know what or why though.
Is that single coil noise in the pause? If Y it should be a little louder if N perhaps it could be smoothed out.
A good song - excellent harmonies & lead vox.
Scorching solo - suits perfectly.
You're very, very good at this stuff Joey!

Hi Ray!
I'll have to check that out again with the 1st bass note and the noise in the pause. Do you think that first bass note is off?
Chris plays some mean lead guitar, I love to work with him.
Thanx for the compliments! :):):):)

Definately 80's....and rockin':D

Nope, definately nothing wrong with sounding 80ish!

You really have talent mate:)

Cheers!

I just listened on crappy pc speakers, so I didn't hear anything that stuck out. But it's definitely a great song.

Jorge and Eddie,
thanx for your opinion, guys, really appreciate it! ;)

I promise you my next one is not gonna be a ballad....I'll be going back to my dark side! :D

I don't think it's the pitch - maybe a hesitation, uncertainty, smidge too early
or something I can't explain - I just noticed "something" about the note that made me feel it wasn't right.

Very cool. The piano intro is 80s like you said. But very cool. The song itself is very cool. You sing it well. You sing all your songs well. Very fitting.

The guitars sound nice and crunchy. The drums sounds pretty good.

How do you do the backup vox? Those sound really cool.

Of course, there's one thing not so 80s about this song. It's less than 6 minutes. :) Ended too soon.

Using a laptop so bear in mind that I can't hear the bass and low end stuff.

To revisit the topic, the piano is not so much 80s as it's the sound. :)

Ha, Ha, cool BB....:D
My songs are usually too long, so the length of this one should be an improvement......:D
The back-ups are 3 different harmonies, each harmony is recorded twice left and twice right. The deeper harmonies I pan closer to the main vox and the higher ones further out. I make sure to leave enough space in the middle for the main vox. After they're ready and edited I bounce them onto a single stereo track. There I add compression and a very slight chorus.
Thanx again for your opinion!

Joe :):):):)

Sounding good joeym :D

As one of the previous posters noted, I noticed some sibilance on the vocals in the intro/verse. The singing is awesome though, and I'm loving the harmonies.

The hi-hat floats above the mix a tad too much in my opinion. I'd drop it down a bit if that's at all possible.

Other than those minor nitpicks, good stuff man.

The length is perfect for an 80's type tune. Long songs are not a trademark of the 80's at all. That would be the 70's, with all the prog rock bands. The 80's were the decade of the 3 minute "hit" tune.

Excellent, Joey!

I listened the last 2 songs you posted , and I talked about the lack of bass guitar in "zero..." song, which I have in my HD.Comparing, "can´t face" has a far better bass response (at least to my taste).
Voice performance (and tone) is fantastic.Guitar job, needless to say, superb as always.

C o n g r a t s !
