Which model mics are they? I had an earlier set that was great for live, but just meh in the studio. Except the everheads were quite good. They were NDM10's and 11's and CM15 overheads.

hmm I can't speak for all cads, but I've had a lowerend cad 7 peice. Which included 3 TM211's, 2 CM217's, 1 SN210, and 1 KM212

The main problem I had with these mics in particular is how much they bled. It was pretty horrible. It became worthless to EQ anything because it would go out the window once you un-muted the other mic.

The sound of them however wasn't that bad.. for the price paid I guess.. I did find that I really like the overheads though. Which I think were the CM217's. They had a decent sound on hats and a semi-decent overhead sound. I really ended up using it to mic the acoustic and I REALLY liked the sound that I got with it.

That's just my opinion. And that's a lowerend line of their mics. I can't speak for any of the others, I haven't tried em.

I have 3 of the TSM 411's. They are tom and snare mics that you can basically use where you would use an SM57. IMO they do a pretty decent job for a somewhat cheap mic.
My kit also came with a KBM 412 which is a kick drum mic. It got the job done but has a little too much boom and not enough definition. I replaced it with a Beta52 and stuck it on floor tom.
I think these less expensive mic kits are great for getting you started on recording without breaking your bank. You most likely will find that down the road you will want to upgrade and you can either sell the mics or keep them around and find use for them.
BTW, I use the TSM 411's on guitar cabs with nice results.

They're cheap, but have their uses. I use my GXL2400 for a bunch of stuff. I used it over a U87 on an Orange cab. Client wasn't happy with how the 87 sounded, moved it around for 15minutes. Threw the $80 GXL2400 and he loved the sound. Weird? Yup.
