After speaking to my wife we decided to build my studio in the backyard. I first was going to build it in part of my home, but it was to small. My new studio will be 21x16. I will be starting to make a plan of the studio and will post the pic's online to all see. Peace to all.

Welcome DannyD:)

If you haven't already, you should definitely check out John Sayers site. http://www.angelfire.com/al3/studio/index.htm
He has some excellent designs for small studios.

And I just posted these suggestions to somebody else starting to build a studio:

Check out my design for flush mounting monitors. https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=26518 It would be cool to see somebody implement it.

Flush mounting in general is far superior to free standing, even for near fields. I give some reasons in this post. https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?threadid=25497

Peace,
barefoot

21*16... you better be talking about feet...

That's cool...when I eventually build a studio, I'd like to make it about 20x16. Be sure to post pics when you start!
