Building a desk! NEED HELP!!

Hey guys. I have a desk.. but I I want to make it more of a studio desk. It was actually my sisters old Make-up desk (Dressing Table) haha. I took it because I know I can use the wood to build a desk. I want to keep it built but.. want it to look cooler and to be more comfier. Maybe leather padding? I also want to paint in black. What paint will I need?

Measurements of Desk :

Width - 50cm
Length - 120cm

You can use this desk for your mixer and such but I'd recommend that you use some monitor stands behind the desk for your audio monitors.
The speakers, as shown on your photos are much to low and much to close to you to get a good sound-field in which to hear correctly

I will have a look right now.

I have everything. Except from headphones and monitors. I had a cheap pair of headphones but they broke.

Those speakers on my desk is for my hifi and I'm looking to get them up on my wall later on, once I get everthing sorted out.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "black".

If I had "everything" and this was my situation, I wouldn't worry too much about Color, "Cool" or Comfort quite yet.
I would be spending more time on putting it all together so that it all works and making it as acoustically correct as you can afford at this time with plans to make it even more acoustically correct with time and money.
I really don't recommend that you follow through on your plans to hang your audio monitors on the wall.
At minimum, they could vibrate the walls enough to create sound related issues and anomolies that you really don't want or need.
As you live in the UK, I suggest you read the current and 4 or 5 back issues of Sound On Sound Magazine and target their monthly Studio SOS articles.
You can get some great info there.

HSG is right- painting and padding is for down the line- but when you are ready to paint, I'd suggest that one liter or quart of semi-gloss black enamel, from a house-paint store will be the best. Latex is easier to apply and clean up, but will get easily scratched off those plastic veneers on the desk. Enamel will have better grip.

And making an elbow pad for that desk is not going to be cost-effective, or time-effective. Save that for your next, custom-built desk.

Another surface treatment would be Ozite... it's that felt-like grey stuff you see on some road cases and such. It glues on and is easier to work with than you might think. It is a nice, no scratch surface and things don't slide around.
