I own a BRC and I'd like to know if someone can help me setup the BRC to control the transport for CUBASE SX 3 or NUENDO, through a MIDI port.
The idea would be to use only the BRC with no ADAT connected, to control the computer to make the transport of the software.
I know this is possible if we use the BRC to read the timecode from a ADAT tape and use this as the MASTER for CUBASE. But the main purpose would be not to use a tape on the ADAT since all recording would be made on the hard disk.
Can someone help me on this matter? Thanks.

Brc

What you need is a data sync 2 box. You can get one probaly at Guitar Center for about $200.00. Run the BRC with SMPTE into it and midi out to your sound card interface in to your puter, set your puter to receive SMPTE in your software, then set a offset time and BAng,bang, bang!!!!!

That's not really what I had in mind. For that purpose I could insert a tape on the ADAT and read the time code from the tape.
But all I want is to be able to use the MMC from the BRC to control CUBASE or NUENDO.
I know that the BRC is able to generate time code without the tape, as I've been told by the guys at Alesis, but I can't seem to be able to get the software to respond to the BRC commands.
Thanks anyway.
