Boss 1180CD export wav to Cd problem

Just completed a recording session and wishing to save individual tracks of five songs as wav files - succeeded in the first four songs, although it was a long winded process having to erase the CDRW each time - but when I reached the fifth song the BOSS 1180CD machine kept stalling halfway through the wav export process and would not respond to any commands at all (no choice but to pull the plug out (ouch!!!).
So I tried again with a new CD (ordinary CD instead of CDRW this time). Same problem. - machine stalled completely when I tried to export one wav file onto the CD.
In the end I had to copy the unmixed song on the Boss's hard disk, rename the copy, delete all the unwanted tracks in that copy and save the remaining track as an audio track (then export the audio track as wav on the computer using Nero).
So is this a known problem on the Boss when it comes to exporting wavs (as opposed to making audio tracks, which still works fine)?
Was it having a bad reaction to the continual erasing of the CDRW.
Will it put itself right or do I have to return it to the store?
Thanks for any help
Kind regards
David

Ive never actually used the wav export function and ive had my box for a while now. Cant think what could be wrong. Those CD players/recorders are pretty flimsy and cheap though. I mean you could snap the CD tray quite easily by just inserting a CD!!
I have had quite a few problems with recording audio onto CD, but i think that the problems were mostly a wrong make of CD, trying to burn at too fast a rate (the slower the rate at which you burn the CD, the better quality.) and also not using a totally flat surface to sit my machine.

Thanks for that, ecktronik, but the thing is: the distinction between being able to record the track as an audio track and yet (suddenly) not being able to export the pure wav file is what concerns me (BTW I was using two different brands of CD - one a CDRW and one a CD write once only - and the machine prompted two different spEeds for each as I recall) Any further ideas?

I cant even try it myself as i have no blank CDs! but have you tried importing a wav from a CD to see if that works?
Only thing i can think is to try it a few more times with a variety of different makes of CD, but at "X1" burn speed. If this doesnt work complain to F@$* to BOSS!!
