Ok, avaliable here to download are three different beats for the main riff. They are as follows. Please let me know what one you like the best.

Original Blast Beat

kick------------kick-----------kick
--------snare----------snare----------snare
ride-------------ride-----------ride

Blast Beat

kick------------kick-----------kick
snare----------snare---------snare
ride-------------ride-----------ride

Double Bass Blast Beat

kick----kick---kick---kick---kick
snare---------snare--------snare
ride-----------ride-----------ride

Everone and anyone listening please give your feedback as to what one you like. The different drum tracks start at about 00:11 into the song and then again two other times. Let me know what you think of the flow and what not.

Some people have been saying the first (original beat) seemed like it sounded strange as the riff was in time with the kick and not the snare. I personally like it but would like opinions of drummers. Thanks.

I'm not a drummer but I have listened to plenty of death metal. I liked the original beat the most, but the transitions into it each time seemed kind of awkward. Once it got into the groove, though, it was my favorite. I think that blasts where the kick, snare, and cymbal all hit on the same beat only really works when its really fast, not more of a midtempo like your song is. For something of that speed, I think the alternating kick and snare works better. For something along the lines, speed-wise, of "Lost Cause" by Pig Destroyer, straight blasts work great though.

im a drummer and i listen to death metal and i would say the double bass blast beat sounds the best. but i think you should also reconsider the blast before the 11 secs, the one right at the beggining before the fill. but it sounds good :D

What would you sugest for the intro part? It is a basic kick, snare, kick, snare... Then just a long drum roll...

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I agree with you on regards to the blast beats. As far as the transitions, do you mean the drums or the song structure its self?

No prob.

I was just referring to something about the drum pattern itself, like something felt off-time or something. Actually, I listened to it again a bit after posting that and it didn't seem quite as awkward to me as it did initially. I wouldn't sweat it.

Im not much of death metal guy but i am a drummer. I agree with breeeeza the double bass blast beat sounded the best by far. And I dont really like bass kick bass kick part in the intro either. Not because of this song but because ive never liked how that really fast beat sounds at all. I think it always sounds out of place and out of time, but thats just me.

im thinking try it with the 'double bass blast beat' ( this is for the intro) cause i dont think it goes that well it seems to be out of time (that may sound stupid) when i play on an actual drum kits when i do a blast sometimes starting with a snare instead of a bass works well like this
hihat or ride hihat or ride
snare snare snare You can eather put the bass on the snare or the hihat or ride. or both? I would reccommend doing the double bass blast beat for the beggining and see what it sounds like, post it on here so i can have a listen too. Cheers :D

sorry i forgot to include this in my other post.... i was gunna say that unless the 'long drum roll' is something really special it sometimes turns out boring if you make it 10 seconds or whatever.

THATS AN AWESOME SONG. when it starts that beat is like nutz how fast he plays it.

id say the original one because the 2nd one you listed just sounds too slow for the tempo of your song. the 3rd one sounds ok but i still prefer the 1st one. more of like a thrash beat or something.

personally, i think this would sound better

snare------------snare------------
--------bass--------------bass----
ride--------------ride--------------

or do the same thing but double it up so its with the snareand ride as well
