Measurement mics: ECM-8000 vs Nady CM-100 vs ?

Just looking for a cheapo measurement mic to tune my room. These two both look and are priced about the same. Any opinions on which may be better for anyone who has tried or shopped them both? (I think the Nady comes with a case and some trial software)

While I'm at it does any company make an inexpensive battery powered measuremet mic instead? (Might be nice to mount on my video cam or run into a minidisc recorder for taking on the run)

Also, as another alternative, what about just using some other sub $100 brand SDC with and omni directional interchangeble capsule instead that way I could get more use from it? Or...... should I really be shopping specifically for a measurement mic if I really hope to get accurate tuning results?

Hmmmmm.....

Interesting little mics, but for accurate measurement? But hey, for that price and such compact size, it would almost be cool just to get a pair to keep plugged into opposite ends of my mixer at all times for an instant stereo recording option. (The distance between channels 1 and 16 gotta at least be as far apart as my own ears right? LOL!)

The MSH mics are great, but not sure they would work well for measurement. They're not measurement mics.

For tuning your room they might work, though. But I would still go with one intended for measurement.

The Behringer would probably work well enough for what you're doing.

You could try asking in the Studio Building forum, and ask what mics some of them use.
