If the threads and connenction mate properly, putting a Behringer B5 capsule on the Studio Projects C4 mic will probably work.

What you'll get out of that pairing is a whole 'nother story. I suspect (but cannot absolutely prove) that the QC on the Behringer capsules is probably limited to a "works/doesn't work" spec.

Chrysler owns Mercedes. Kinda like asking if a Plymouth engine will work in a Mercedes if it will physically fit.
Hey thanks Harvey. Maybe Dot will lets us know if the Studio Projects C4 and Behringer B5 capsules are interchangeable or not. How about it Dot?

I know what you mean... I don't know how good 797 Audio QC is... but danshi posted QC pictures of FEILO that look great.

I wonder if 797 Audio in China is as nice as FEILO?

DJ,

797 was the original mic company in China, established with (East) German input. To my knowledge Feilo was possibly started by ex-797 people and their facility doesn't compare to 797.

A quote from 797's website......................"The company has the biggest anechoic chamber in Asia and first-class testing laboratory and audition room. She is one of new technique research and development centers of Beijing city and has dozens of B&K electric-acoustic testing equipments and digital DASS testing systems. The company has passed the authentication of ISO 9001 Quality System; many products of the company have passed CE authentication of Europe and 3C authentication of China. She has been designated as the high-tech enterprise of Beijing city in 1999."......................now just how much that means who knows, but from what I saw in the Feilo pics, I doubt that they can really compete.

BTW 1)......Danshi's pics weren't QC pics, they were snapshots of what appeared to be a relatively "low tech", minimal investment, mic manufacturing facility. If that dog-box impressed people, it almost, and I repeat almost makes me want to contact Rode and ask if I can tour their new facility and get some pics. Considering I was invited to the official opening last year, (I didn't bother driving down for it), I may still have some access to the place.

BTW 2)....... you can't compare Stephen Paul's lab (regardless of the state of the benchtops) with any manufacturer who is turning out mass produced mics.....the difference is really greater than apples and oranges.

I'd love to see the Pictures of 797 Audio in China... and if you ever take pictures of the Rode factory, I'd love to see them... please post those pictures. Thanks

And just for the hell of it........................

Behringer have apparently got a new mic ready to be released and guess what they are calling it......................C-1!!!

COINCIDENCE???

Thank fuck it doesn't resemble the SP mics.

I don't know where you got the idea I have pics of 797...............I DIDN'T SAY THAT!!! A couple of years ago I did see some pics of 797, and lets just say that it ain't a tin shack:D

As for RODE...............go have a look around their website, I have a funny idea there may be a "factory tour" there. I know I have it on a CD/DVD thingy here, but I've never bothered to look at it.

From memory, it was 797's own site, but that has been revamped a couple of times since those days and I think the only pics currently available are of their products.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Hey Dot, do the Behringer B5 capsules work on the Studio Projects C4 mic?

Actually, I'm pretty sure it is a coincidence. The new Behringer C1 looks pretty much the same as the Samson C01. AFAIK, both mics are made by Tenlux and have nothing to do with the SP C1.

Also note that "B1" wasn't "stolen" from SP either (as Alan said earlier), but simply a logical appellation for a single diaphragm version of Behringer's B2 microphone. The B2 is much older than SP's B-series. So even the fact that there are two B1 mics from the same factory is merely coincidence.

I'm a big fan of Studio Projects, but, while Behringer may or may not have stolen the C4 design, it's not true that they stole product numbers from Studio Projects. I'm not sure you can "steal" a letter and a nuber, anyways.

It's kinda strange that this 7-page thread hasn't produced any usable information, so far. If nobody can offer any hard facts I suppose we should let this thread die.

I was getting bored while I waited for a phone call from the Aust., Customs Dept., about a shipment of Les Pauls that flew in this morning. Anyway, to fill in the time I re-read this whole thread..................Rossi, sorry I missed your reference to the Behri C1 in the early stages. Personally, I think there is considerable useable information here, just not relative to the original post and probably too subtle for some people to pick up on.

Fukin hell I must have sent my reply to "Big Tits Weekly"

if you read big tits weekly i'm afraid i want no more details of your "hard facts", please.

*smirk*

Well I can think of at least a couple of reasonable explanations for that, but c'mon DJ, what do you make of it?

aus,
I find it interesting... and I think it would be interesting to see the PCB's and etc of both the Behringer B5 and Studio Projects C4 too. But, from reading some of your post I doubt that's something you'd be interested in... and sense you couldn't care less about what I think, I find it strange that you'd even ask me.

No shit Harevy, you know what’s getting really old, you Harvey, your getting really old.

That is the single most offensive, ignorant and prick-esque comment I have ever heard anyone say on any internet bbs.

Sorry.

Actually, it reminds me of the old Aesop's Fable about the Turtle and the Scorpion.

DJL can't help being who he is, anymore than I can be someone other than who I am.
