Better sound quality then construction quality.
I have had some experience with Behringer stuff. I have found it to be very clean, quiet, versatile gear.
In the old days, when Behringer was starting out, they seemed to copy other product lines design. I believe they have survived the law suits that followed with nothing more then a raise for their in-house legal team.
But, it would seem that this said raise might have effected the quality of the materials they use to make their products. The current batch of Behringer gear has some pretty flimsy cases, which is really little concern if you are going to mount it in a rack in your studio and keep it their.
Their old stuff had bigger knobs (but were still kind of small) and sturdier cases. But, I have used a new Composer recently, and it sounded every bit as good as their older ones did.
Extremely good quality sound for the price. In fact, I would venture to say that the RNC is the closest thing to it in bang for the buck.
You will probably need to use it for quite some time, then have some access to a much higher end compressor to appreciate the difference.
Stick with it for now. It should serve you well.
Good luck.
