Bbe Sonic Max 362

Anyone here use a sonic maximizer when they master? ( the 362 more specifically ) I do hear a big difference when it processes, very clear, very bright...... very very bright. Almost too bright! anyone else notice this? It makes my guitars so bright they sound bad! I dont even know if i want to bother leavin the digital domain to use this thing anymore. Doesnt seem to be worth it. any opinions?
 
Bruce uses the BBE Sonic Maximizer on virtually ALL of his mastering jobs, so he's the one to ask. He raves about the "clarity" it gives his mixes.

i've been curious about these too... I found a Nady one somewhere, and was wondering about the quality of 'em, i didn't think that it'd be up to the quality of the BBE units, so i passed on it. It'd be nice to experiment with one of these BBE units though, i haven't ever touched 'em.
 
If your mixes sound too bright, you are over using the maxizer. Turn it down until you hear a subtle difference. These things are invaluable when used correctly, but nasty when overdone. A little bit goes a long way. Try it and let us know how the results are. Good luck.

I found the BBE gives me a little more headroom when I need to reach stuff that's a little too high on my shelves. You have to be carefull and stand on the edges because if you step in the middle you can distort it.
