OK, here's mix 2.0

Changes:
- Overheads hotter
- Kick emphasis moved from 64Hz to 80Hz.
- Under snare mic hotter, has some 'verb now
- Top snare mic a smidge hotter, but some low end pulled out
- Vocals run through mild (30ms down the left) stereo delay, a tad hotter
- Master stereo mix rolled off at 31hz a bit, pumped at 6.3KHz a smidge for clarity.
- Bass guitar upper mids that had been pulled got rolled back in a bit
- Right side guitar has edgier EQ curve
- Lead guitar has a smidge of delay

Better mix overall. The verb and delay are a good addition. Adds some dimension/bounce, but it might be too wet. On headphones the delay pushes the vocals towards the right side, maybe too much? The snare drum sounds a little brighter to me. I'd suggest rolling off some of the highs on the lead guitar - the delay works the same as the vocals but is good for the short time it lasts on lead. I need to listen to it a few more times to get a better feel for the changes but I think it's better (even though the first mix sounded great in it's own way...:D )

I was deliberately going for brighter and edgier... :)

Overall balance came out much better. Drums sound great, cymbals notably. I agree with Gerry about the vox, should be straight up the middle. I think the lead guit sounds fine, but that's gerry's call.

Cheers,

Ah, you see, this is why I so in thrall to Rami & Greg for assistance. What real drums do for a track is simply astounding.
Add to that Larion's tweakerismo and there you have it!
Drums and a collaboration makes things even more fun .
Did I ever mention that the solo has a slight Cars feel to it - just a sense of Best Friends Girlfriend or something?
I think the bass definition is great too.
Gerry - you write little classics.
