I own a B-1. I've used the 3035. I consider them both good mics in their price range. For the stated application, I prefer AKG C2000B to either of them. Both Rap and R&B can profit from a little color. Both B-1 and 3035 are mics I would be more likely to use for instruments than vocals. One thing you definitely get from this thread, though, is that there isn't a definitive better or worse for vocal mics. Vocal mics are like shoes. They either fit, or they don't. Yep, some shoes are better than others. It doesn't mean that they fit you.-Richie
