both of them are crap, but which one i can do without. i'm only interested in the preamp point of view, not the mixer part of the behringer.

sounds (really) good to my ears

it sounds (really) good to me. now from all these bad reviews i read about this behringer and art tube i have here, you are not going to tell me you ran your stuff through any of them are you? it sounds really good. i guess it is the magician and not the wand. i was just going buy off of what more experienced people have said about these pieces of equipment. i just got a mackie 1202 off of ebay. if you are going to tell me that the behringer is just as good i guess i'll be selling something on ebay next week.

You can buy better gear than the Behringer. You can buy better gear than Mackie. Either way, you'll have to pay for it, though. There is SO much anti-Behringer rhetoric going around on the net, it's really quite alarming. The key word there, though, is rhetoric.

I've got Behringer rack gear and like em. I've got an ART Tube MP and like it. Never messed with Behringer mixers so I dunno. Barely 2 cents worth.

"You got me to bite there for a minute, but I probably won't come back to download it no matter what. EVERY time I have downloaded something from somebody who plays the "you don't need to spend a fortune in gear to have great sound" card, and then has all the gear de jure usually winds up having something not worth listening to. Time and time again, that is the way it happens."

man that was a pretty harsh comment to make towards someones work. i don't have the experienced ears to critique compression, dynamic sound, and equalization like most people here. i have been pursuing this passion for only a year now. i have been listening to music all of my life so i do know (good) music when i hear it, especially jazz(being from new orleans). so lighten up a little on the way you criticize peoples dreams. i don't get offended when people tell me not to buy expensive gear because i understand what they mean. if you can get buy off of what you can afford, and still want to be in the recording buisness. then get that good stuff and be amazed at what you can really do. some people have to crawl before they can walk. getting all of this expensive gear and no knowing what to do with it is the reason some people end up selling it at a fraction of the cost, and losing big money. in other cases cheap gear may destroy someones passion, but the fact of the matter is, music is music. if i had to chose from being a cold person with professional ears, and a thoughtful person who is nieve to engineering, i would stay nieve. i'm not trying to be a moron, i'm just trying to be truthful. i felt the compassion in that composition. enough said....

hey...I kinda felt the same feelings as you seemed to have gotten when I read "those words". However...I cannot take credit for that statement as you will notice they are quotated and in italics for a reason. ...happens to be a response from someone else.

Have a look for yourself. Check this thread out, if you would.

additionally, I think we speak the same language. However, your above statement always seems to get "glossed over" like we ARE a bunch of morons.

sorry mixmkr

i apologize for the misunderstanding mate. i didn't check the link because i respect your sincerity. thanks for showing interest in this thread. how is your music coming along?

crap?

just curious why dya think the 802 is crap? do you mean the whole thing or just the pre aspect of it...specifics would be nice hehe...I would like to know cause |I bought one of these a week ago, and so far Im lovin it...

crap

i'm just going by what more experienced people have said thruoughout this forum. it sounds okay to me also, but then again i never ran my mic through anything else. i don't have a lot of money to spend on getting the best gear out there but i do want to get the best gear for my money. just run a search and read up on some posts. the most important thing is your ears. if it pleases you then it's what you need. thanks for viewing the thread. maybe you can even post some music. i haven't made it to that level yet.

postin tunes

ahhh well...so far its just a single piece of my recordin system...the computer boasts a tp of the line (aeons ago) SB 16 soundcard...and the rest of the computer is obsolete compared to THAT...but once i do get somethin together I shall indeed post something I mixed thru the 802...in the meantime I shall be doing some reading...
