What do you mean by midi?
My bcf2000 midi controller works fine..
If your looking for synths and stuff theres other programs that directly integrate with ardour.. I don't use synths.. but you might look at rosegarden

Maybe I'll give wine another try too.. its been a long time since I've used that. I was thinking of just installing vmware and starting a windows vm to use itunes... But the more I think about it... the less I want itunes anyway.. I want my stuff mp3.

This is working out well for me.
I like the way that I can use Jack to route the output of a track, through JAMin, and then back to the input of the master fader. Makes it real easy for me to trash my mixes. I suppose If I were a mastering engineer, I'd do better.. Its not the softwares fault my ears suck. Anyway. Ardour is working out great for me. I don't miss Audition. I can do everything I could do before and more. These apps make a nice DAW.

JACK
Ardour
JAMin
Hydrogen
K3b

My control surface works great, I've had no issues with latency or anything of the sort.. Mixing is easy. I'm working on getting sounds I like out of the LADSPA plugins..
I suggest it for any linux audio person.. or someone who's willing to spend the long linux hours getting things to work.

Once its up and running... its up and running, and well worth the time.

Fun isn't it? I'm getting more and more at ease with Rezound. Now if only that bl***y pc wouldn't make so much noise...

I read someone got Cinelerra running. How is that for audio?

my problem is that I don't use an alsa compliant soundcard... I have an Edirol FA-66 which requires FreeBoB... which is now in JACK CVS...
