Waituminut.... you want this "mastered", but delivered as MP3??????????????? huh????
er... guys.... I was being facetious!!!!!!!!!

Some people take things too seriously and don't know when to have a laugh.

C'mon guys it's not as if your gonna die if you have a laugh once in a while.

i think spin realizes that and MP3 isn't a master...but he just wants to hear the sound differences between people's stuff and his own.

anyway though - everyone could send him like a 10 sec. .wav clip or something, that would be decent enough i'd say...

but yeah - i just got a brickwall limiting set at (i think it was -.1..but coulda been 0)....and its basically hitting that non-stop (so over here it's not actually CLIPPING, but indivually the tracks are...)..
i made a master of it anyway though, just basically to put a low end in it, and take out some of the harsh highs that hurt me...haha so nothing great, but just to see how i would have loved to hear it RECORDED in the first place at least, i think spin is posting it up on that webpage...

Spin...you need to post a wav of this, but with absolutely no processing after the mixdown. Limiting is mainly part of the mastering process, and you most certainly limited the piss out of this wav already..:p

Ok guys, attempt #2...

1, some of the vocal parts are a bit low, I'll fix that tomorrow.

Anyway, this version sounds way better. I didn't make the signals as hot when mastering, hopefully this will fix the clipping problem.

Also, check out the wav, that's the work of shackrock (Thanks bro!!)

Here, check out this one too, just brought the levels down a bit, is this one clipping too?

Thoughts? Comments? Keep the suggestions comming !!!!

oh yeah....niceeeeee new mix.haha

that already kills my "master" of the original one...

now you got it down my man, stuff is mass cleaner and sounds really good i think for the most part.. esp. compared to the old one! and being an mp3! lol

oh yeah, but those singing vocals need to be re-done - really bad notes to me....

Yes this one is clipping too. It looks like you used soft knee compression on this one instead of a brick wall limiter, but still too much of it. I would be willing to give one a shot, but you have to put a mix up that hasn't been processed. That includes any type of overall compression, normalization, and EQ. Once you've done this sort of processing you can't get back transients that were lost in the process. It's kinda like shaving your head and then asking a barber to give you a nice haircut (assuming you didn't want your head shaved to begin with). Just squashing the crap out of something does not a mastering engineer make.

I would suggest that you put a shorter segment up in wav format if you want to decrease up and download times (maybe only 1 minutes worth). By making the original an mp3 you have already compromised the quality before anyone has had a chance to work with it.
