Anyone wanna do a collaboration recording?

I just want to see what idea you have for the song, and we can go from there, so post it and then we will run with it.


I don't want to do the guitar parts. I prefer to do the bass.

As soon as you post it, then I will ask for guitar players to step up.

I was lucky I got about 15 minutes to think about something and post it here :P
Here is just to inspire the 7/8 feel. Of course, I won't use this organ sound, and I won't be totally improvising like on this recording on the real one. I kept the same bass progression so you can compare feels with more ease.

So hopefully in a day or two, we can get this thing rolling.... I will lay the scratch guitar tracks to this, and work on tweaking the vocals to fit the new time signature...


But I don't want to be the one who sings it in the final version. My voice sucks.

And someone else please, redo my scratch guitar tracks!

I am still interested in singing and, perhaps, playing some guitar. Let me see what I can do with these lyrics. Not sure I can sing in 7/8 :eek: but hey, I'll try anything once. :D

I am trying to fit them into a 7/8 time sig too, it's going to be interesting. I normally don't play 7/8, I'm a 3/4 or 4/4 guy...

I will have a guitar, bass and drum scratch of the entire piece (as I envision it) in about 2 days...
 
The organ mp3 has a very Dream Theater feel to it. This is going to be interesting. I can handle the bass for this, but not the guitar. I am hearing twin lead harmonies and such.


Well.... back to the grind....


If anyone who hears it can come up with more suitable lyrics, I don't think what I have will suit the mood of the song....



EDIT: Nevermind, I can make the lyrics work. May have to rewrite a bit....

There is no chorus for this, but I don't think it needs one....

If this helps you, 7/8 can be counted like this : 1-2 1-2 1-2-3
This makes it pretty easy to feel, since you are using 2 and 3 (some stuff you already know). I have to work out some serious meat around this idea (gotta study also!)
