oh yeah...I didn't buy the POD (or my J station...or my RAT or my, etc, etc) to *model* or "emulate" a particular amp and try and save some $$$ instead of buying a vintage super reverb. Instead, I just go for the sound and the tone...that's my only, and main goal....whatever it takes.....

(hint)...but I use POD a lot.

ps...I do own a good variety of amps too...even my 'ole trusty V4 for those outside blastfests/picnics/general craziness parties.....

pps ...I did just sell my "vintage" 70's fuzzface (missing a knob too) on Ebay for a REDICULOUS $325.00!!!!!!!!!! An item that probably got me the most seller email questions on any item I have sold. ("inside pictures?...transistor numbers???")

LOL Finally something I disagree on with Sonus!

I've found the pod(s) more and more standard gear in studios, I love them all, especially the guitar and bass pods.

I have found myself using pods on loads of stuff, not just on guitars and bass. Used them on drums, keys, even vocals!

SJOKO:

Yeah, I like putting a piano sound through the pod, with the Line six Crunch sound, and gain all the way up... Then I play the solo, that was supposed to be played on the guitar, on the keys, and boy, what a sound... I can only explain as industrial/mechanical sort of, whaling away, high pitched scream......

One of the songs on my newly completed album, have this going on...
