...happier than you.
O.K... I've been on n-Track for a decent while now, and I'm making good use of it... at first I had some major stability issues, but once I figured oat what settings to stick with, I was ok...

but...

now I've got this really annoying problem. I think my plug-ins are getting "corrupted". They cause the app to lock-up and crash. I figured it's the plug-ins because I would add one to a track and a bit later the thing would lock up, and if I remove the plugin, everything goes back to normal.. The problem is.. these are plugins that I've used for a while.. it's not like this is some new glitchy plugin I just found.. so what's up with that?

On top of that... I got rid of all the plugin's that I figured were messin' things up and went on my merry way... well.. I was just playin' and editing and doin' normal stuff and I went to click on play (or stop or something) and the whole app just disappeared... no warning... no pop-up window saying that "this app has caused an error"... no nuthin'. Literally, one second the screen is there, the next second I'm starin' at my desktop. Needless to say, when this happens, I lose all my work (unless I've saved recently). It's happened a good few times now (on the last project I worked on) and I'm quite sick of it.. :p

So anywho,.. I just figured I'd see if anyone had that same problem and knew what caused it.

P.S. Yes.. I have the latest drivers.. latest Delta drivers, 4in1 drivers, video drivers,.. etc. etc. etc.

I don't have your particular problem, but since I went to version 3.1.1, I have weird problems, sometimes when I mixdown, it will stop mixing before completion, leaving out the last few seconds. and sometimes the tracks will just ALL disapear, but the n-track application is still there. If I exit without saving, and then reload the file it's OK. I think this is a plug-in issue, virtual pack.

I was pretty stable untill I installed this latest version. I would go back to version 3.1 but I am afraid I will mess up some current work.

WATYF,

Have you done any heavy disk diagnostics lately??? You might have some corrupted disk sectors (or one of the plugin files itself may be corrupted.)

BTW: I know this doesn't help, but I have a simple Intel chipset P2-450 and am running 3.1.1 without any problems... but others on the ntrack.com discussion board who are running Athlons and VIA chipset have reported problems like larrye's...

I recently had to go back to version 3.1. 3.1.1 was giving me major stability issues (program terminations, bsds, etc._, and pops and clicks and droppouts were appearing on my wave files, even tho' I was using the ASIO drivers, where I never had that problem before.

I don't have any insight to your particular problem, but would just like to emphasize what you already know:Save your work OFTEN!!
Perhaps after every edit!I was just doing some work on a bass track tonite(cutting and pasting),got an hour into my work w/o saving, and ran into an "illegal operation".Fortunately,it only affected the edits(the wave files I was editing were intact),but still,I only get to work on weekends,so an hour lost is dear to me!
Good luck with your problem!

I do not even have my recording set-up put together yet, but in trying to learn as much as possible about recording with a PC numerous people told me that n-track is the only way to go (especially for a beginner). I found out a lot of info by going to www.fasoft.com and checking out the "music made with n-track" section. You will go to the artist's sites when listening. I have learned alot by e-mailing the artists and asking questions.
