Anybody interested in either of these?

Reel deep thoughts...
If not, they're goin' to Goodwill.

These are both standard Philips cassette machines. I don't know if they work. Free for the cost of shipping. Send me a PM if interested.

I'll take the Micro 70. Had one of those while I was in the service!

Let me know what shipping is to 92020

Can you post a couple more pics of the 87, Cory?

Love to see what's behind those black doors/panels! :)

Also, both of those would appear to be very rare pieces of gear as a Google image search comes up blank on both items!

Also, I might be interested in the 87 even if it doesn't work if the shipping costs wouldn't be too heavy to Toronto.

Cheers! :)

I'm interested in the Micro 87 if it works.

As I said in the original post I don't know if these work, and I'm giving them away for the cost of shipping. I don't mean to sound curt but I've got other things I want to spend my time on besides doing a function test on an unfamiliar piece of gear I'm giving away. If you want it, let me know. Otherwise I'll calculate some shipping for Mr. Ghost.

I'll snap some more pics of it.

These things are *anything* but "micro". :D

oops, only saw the photos !

go ahead Ghost ! (I've had too many non-working cassette decks in the past to risk it!)

Thanks for the head's up! :)

I'm mostly interested in it as a historical piece and to be a fine piece of "brick-a-brack" in my livingroom! :D

That is, as long as the shipping costs aren't too crazy to Canada... :( :) Fingers crossed.

Cheers! :)

Well folks these are both still available unless I hear back from mdainsd right quick...

Ghost sanely declined the Micro 87 after we discovered how stupid $$$ the shipping is from the states to Canada.

Anyway, I succumbed to curiosity and tested the Micro 87...everything works except FFWD and that might be an easy fix...I don't know...but everything else right down to the VU lamps works.

If you want some idea of what it would be to ship figure its in a 19" x 13" x 10" box and it will weigh in at about 21lbs ("micro" my a$$)...shipping from zip 97304.

Anyway, last chance...I'll probably take them and donate them to the local thrift store this Thursday.

Easy there big fella. Payment sent.

It IS a chunk isn't it??

If you don't mind, post here when you know how its working (or not... :o) Hope it is fully functional though.

I'll do that! First impressions is that it has had plenty of use. Im sure you noticed the very dirty transport keys, yuck.

But on the plus side its amazing that the AC cord cover and the battery cover are still with it as they are not retained to the machine. It "powers up" the left meter shows charge level in play. Im going to open it up before I try a tape. you cannot see the heads or pinch roller with that pop up lid. It still even has the warranty sticker over one of the case screws, so I doubt its been messed with inside.

Yes...it is filthy... :o

Was honestly hard to send something to anybody in that condition...

Keep up the reports. Very happy it is with somebody who is familiar and appreciates it's Micro 70-ness!

And some more pics of it would be nice too! ... once it's cleaned up, that is :D

Cheers! :)

I'll do that. Im actually quite interested in what makes it so darn heavy. Seriously, a solid chunk of aluminum wouldnt weigh all that much more than this thing, and its full of air when the battery compartment is empty.
