I have a drain pipe coming down right in the middle of the room against the long wall.. It is in the middle but not out in the middle. It is about 12" off the wall.

I don't want to box it in cause that will ruin the room. What are some of the things you'ins have done?

Have someone artistic draw something onto it. Make it an asset/conversation piece rather than an eyesore.

Wrap 12" of foam around it, and call it a "custom bass trap"...

You have a lot of good suggestions so far... carpet, bass trap, etc. Even custom artwork.

Me, I'd put on elbows and route it against the wall. But thats me, I dislike poles, pipes, and ducts taking up valuable studio space. SO much so I'd even be willing to chip out concrete to move it.

But again, thats me, I like to do things the hardest way possible :D

Glue a bunch of random-sized wood blocks to it, and call it a "cylindrical diffusor".

Hire a blonde pole dancer during sessions. Here's a pic :D :D :D
