Analog to Digital Latency

I need more than the 8 tracks on my Tascam 38. It was suggested that I digitally (Logic) record all my tracks then for the tracks which I want the analog punch, output a given track to the Tascam 38 in REPRO mode wherein it can be sent back to a new Logic audio track. This will however cause a delay on the returned track, since the repro head gets the signal 1/30th of a second after it hits the record head (15 ips X about 1/2"). I was told you can easily resync the track...but how? Do you simply move the track in Logic by the estimated 1/30 sec and listen if it sounds right on the entire logic playback?

Yep. If you paste a couple of clicks to the beginning of the tracks you can use those to make sure everything is synced up properly.
