greetings from maine,

i have recently acquired a tascam 38 after many years of looking but not buying. i am using my old 464 mixer section right now as a temporary fix.
i would like to find out what older tascam or other boards people like out there. ya know, pros and cons. i want to keep everything analog. and as always, price is a concern !
any suggestions on are greatly appreciated. thanks

all right
thanks Jr
i'll check that model out...reasonable price too...

The Tascam 30 Series mixers are the matched mixers to the 38.

The 30 Series is the Tascam M30 and M35 mixers.

The M30 is a high quality, low priced board, that's most matched to the 38, is 8x4x2x2, and can typically be picked up for $100-$150, on Ebay.

The M35 is the one you don't typically see as often, but sometimes an M35 can be gotten for less than the M30, which is funny, 'cause the M35 has slightly higher features than the M30, but is a little more rare, and hard to find. Still, you're looking at $100-$150 for the M35

The M300 Series mixers, [M308, M312, M320], are the analog mixers that came after the 30 Series, [M30 & M35]. The 300 Series mxers are also very nice Tascam analog boards, that are well matched to the Tascam 38.

An M308 can typically sell for $250, the M312 for $375, and the M320 for $500.

There's also the Tascam 200 Series mixers, which are a little lower-end than the 300 Series, but also reasonably priced recording mixers.

F/I, the M216, which some people call a 'live board', IMO, are mistaken, 'cause the M216 is a 16 channel/4 Buss RECORDING board, that IMO, would also be fine to hook up to a Tascam 38.

M216's can typically be found selling for about $250.

Good Luck.

great info, thanks Reel
i'll check out the 30 and 300 series....
