I'll start by saying what SHOULD be said..
It is an honor to have the both of you posting at this site.
And it is my hope that the both you would stay here at this site, so Home Recording Artists like myself & can LEARN how to improve our recording skills.
I hope Alan, and Harvey, that you can take any criticism from those members of this site with a grain of salt, as the vast majority of us have not commited ourselves to the excellence of our craft at a level anywhere near yours.

Harvey- It would be great if you would continue reviewing the C1 mic.

Alan-If the review is good, I'll buy it. Guarenteed.

C7-Look down at your shoes. Where are they made?
Look at your clothes, furniture too, before you rip into Alan's
business. Your allright with me, C7. Just a little off course here.

Me Too

Dougie,

I think we share A LOT!

By the way, when you coming to CA? You better not have come without seeing me!

No Way, Wes!

You know I'll drop in on you.
I'll be in LA sometime in August, will let you know the dates.
And I did not mean to exclude you from the group of people who have hepled me with their mic knowledge.
I'm a Taylor Johnson slut because of you! :)

But I Have A Confession To Make...

...I sold my Oktava MC-012s from The Sound Room only awhile ago to help finance my order for a match-pair DaviSound DS-1950s that I've been wanting to try for about a year now; they should be in my hands by July.

I told myself I was going to buy a new pair of MC-012s from The Sound Room only again, the next time I bought a pair of small diaphram mics. I'm ashamed to say I bought a used pair of AKG C451Es w/ CK1 caps on E-bay instead. Well, one sounds dull and life-less and the other is bright but has too much noise! I suppose that's what I get for messing-around!

Anyone want to buy a pair of C451Es so that I can buy a new pair of Oktava MC-012s from The Sound Room only again?!

Wes,

you sound like a budget minded guy...score a pair of Marshall MXL603's and save yourself about $70 on the pair.......:D

Dang Gidge!

You must've read my mind after reading Harvey's review.

rec. eng....
you musta got some bad AKG451's, because they are good mics. shoot..they could be 20+ yrs old however, and have been dropped a zillion times too.... ya never know, I guess....but they are[were] top end mics....in the not to distant past.

You're Sure Right...

I suppose maybe I should look into what they'd cost to have them repaired... Maybe Jim Williams at Audio Upgrades. Heck, and maybe I'll have him mod them! At only $100US each, it may be worth it! I'll have to look into that!
