An Instumental

Treeline: Thanks for listening to it. Yeah, Carlton rocks. I have a few of his CD's. 'Larry Carlton and Friends' is a great one, has his 'pop' song on it.

Rusty: Don't know why hi-fi wouldn't play, maybe Waldo knows. Thanks for checking out both tunes, The Solution is old relatively, but not much.

CMiller: Hey, glad you like it. I know what you mean with slow connections.. there are lots more I'd like to check out but it takes so damn long to download. Get some more tunes up man!

DavidK: I can read and write standard notation, but so damn slowly, it's not of much use.

I just write out chord names, or a quick tabulature of the chord and 'riff' if it's something unusual. Anything beyond that I just try to remember. As far as music training. Nothing much, piano lessons as a kid, clarinet in highschool.

You can import files to your software multitracker. This mp3 for example, convert it to wav and import it to your sofware. Won't get into details(here), it's easy though.

I'd be interested in some type of internet-based wav-exchange. Whether it be this song or something else. If your into it, let me know.

Thanks for the feedback!

Just came back after computer virus, glad I got back online to hear this one.

Absolutely first rate.

Emeric, you da man!

Great song, recording is very natural sounding, I have allways thought that you have one of the nicest sounding drum sounds around. Very balanced recording, candy to my ears! No more guitar lessons necessary!

Keep em coming!

mojka: Steve Howe is great! Thanks ... (I guess) :)

GT: Virus! oh no. Thanks for the listen! I'll try, it's back to <70BPM though.

Thanks GT, and you should post something, it's been awhile!

Emeric,

Very nice man. How much of that main riff is delay? Reminded me of Ricky Skaggs (sp?). Very nice guitar work indeed!

I don't like the solo guitar tone at all though, too porno. :)

At any rate, I'm very impressed. What's probably most impressive is that you recorded it yourself. Songs like this can get real frustrating real fast when you're tracking yourself!

Very tasty Emeric! I like that a lot. I listened at work and was not able to crank this tune as loud as I wanted to - can't wait to get home tonight and listen again through some decent speakers. Playing is impressive, but I think it is even more impressive writing, if you dig what I am saying. Great stuff!

Brad

P.S. Slack, have you been watching that high-budget porn? I have never heard a guitar solo like that in the porns I star in. ;)

Hey Slackmaster 2000K

None of the main riff is delayed (well a very very slight delay, but not the type of 'delay' note creation type effecting :) ). I double tracked the same part and panned left right, that may give some illusion that it's heavily delayed or something. The way the some of the accents fall I think also create some of the 'delay' sound. I tabbed out the start if your curious:

Porno tone? heheh. That part is a tele through a morley optical wah into a POD into the delta. The rest of the guitars are a Lado electric.

Thanks for listening to it!

Brad,

Thanks for comments, I find this style a little different to write than my usual pseudo pop stuff I post.

Emeric

I just wanted to chime in with everyone else.

Very nice! As a very inept singer myself, I love instrumentals. The parts are all nicely worked out and work together beautifully, and the execution is formidable. As others pointed out, brings to mind the Dregs a bit, which is not to say it sounds like a Dregs cop or anything like that.

great piece of music emeric. been listening to your stuff for a while now,but don't think i've heard you cut loose like this before. very exuberant and joyful piece, great playing! i wish there was another 2 minutes to the song. you show great restraint ending it when you did.

istyle: heheh.. Thanks for checking it out! Cowboy? ... not me.

AlChuck: Appreciate the listen. I've never listened to much dreggs, but lots of Steve Morse, in particuliar - 'The Introduction'. That was a wicked album, we use to jam (at least try to) stuff from that. Cruise Missile, On The Pipe etc. If you don't have that CD, get it!

Keith Turner: It was even shorter before. I added the start part in back again for the end to lengthen it a bit . I think it should be a little longer still, but that's the way it goes. Thanks for the listen and comments. Glad you liked it!
