Lt. Bob: You're not a real Floyd fan unless you have at least some sort of paraphernalia with a floydian logo on it somwhere.
Coffeeandtea: My friend was playing a Les Paul in to his little Fender tube amp. I can't remember the name of it, but it's the little yellowish colored one that looks just like
the Peavey Classic30. Anyway, the combo just sounded great in the room.
I just miced that with a 57 through the Joemeek VC6Q to the Delta 1010 at 16 bit, with a Behringer ecm measurement mic several feet back for ambience. Something about my room really complimented the tone, so that combo worked real well. I plugged the bass in to the ART Tube MP and went the same route. Accoustic was an ovation with an MC012 at one of the smaller sound holes.
Rode NT2 was used on vocals, through the ART Tube MP, again. The delay and chorus I wound up applying to my voice I thought sounded great. I actually used
a Boss VF-1 for that, which has some killer vocal effects, if you can believe it. I was pretty blown away, as I always thought it was mostly a guitar processor. What a find.
The drums were sampled loops I derived from a previous session. I used ACID to piece and arrange the loops together.
