I want to thank all those who responded earlier to a thread I began in which I asked weather the akg c300b or the at 4033 was the better mic.I ended up with the akg c3000b because I found one for 170 bucks (used but in great shape). Now I have another question to do with phantom power adapters.Could someone explain to me why they are necessary and what I should be looking for when I buy one. Thanks Al Ps I can`t tell you how much I appreciate the support I recieve here.

what kind of mixer do you have? you may already have phantom power. If you dont, there are numerous companies that make little boxes for phantom power.

We use an old traynor 8200 that belongs to one of our members. I don`t believe it is equipt for phantom power.I saw somw adapters on ebay but don`t know what I should be buying thanks Al
