Well, if you are going DI to the soundcard, it may be the explanation for why it is thin sounding. You need to use a good preamp if you are not currently using one.
Also, remember in a mix, unlike the real world, you can't get away with excessive fullness on guitars without tromping on the bass guitar and other low end things like kick, floor tom, and maybe even a deep vocal. So, unless this is a guitar full featured thing like Wes Montgomery or Pat Metheny (ex school mate of mine) a little low end roll off is not all that bad.
