Advanced Noise Removal?

Hello, I was wondering if there was a type of plugin that is basically the opposite of Audacity's Noise Removal plugin. With Audacity's you select audio you want deleted and create a "Noise Profile", it then deletes audio in the track based on this profile. However the file I have contains more noise than audio and different types of noise so that by the time I finished I have a horribly distorted audio clip. So my question is: Is there a plugin available where instead I could select audio that I want to keep, and have it automatically remove the rest?

I'm betting removal algorithms work because the 'noise' is typically a repeated, limited complexity wav form (buzz, hum, etc). For the same reason the tool won't work to remove complex noise, plugins can't easily detect and retain complex 'keeper' wav forms either. In other words -- how would it know music from noise if they're equally complex?
