My Taylor 110 has a slight essing (S shape) running up the flank nearest the high e string. It has been caused by the weather no doubt.

When this happens, is it cactus? Or is there a way to repair it?

It's only slight, but is appearing to effect the tuning of the b and e strings.

thanks

A bunch of guitars are made with a "fall-away" starting around the neck/body joint, combined with a bit of extra neck relief, it could make an S shape. I paniced when I noticed it on my Martin, but the repair center guy informed me it was normal, and helps to keep down rattle on higher fretted notes. An S around the 5th-9th frets, however, is just a warped neck.

Anything can be fixed, but without seeing the guitar no one can tell you what is going on. Take your guitar to a good repair person, and tell ask them what's up.

For sure, thanks for the advice. I will take it to get looked at.

Wish they had Maton's in America. I'd really like to try one.

One of my favorite guitarists, Tommy Emmanuel uses them.

Ohhh! I came so close to buying a Maton rather than the Taylor. There's also Cole Clark...which look like good acoustics too.
