I want to replace the 7.5gig hard drive before I even start to use this unit, with a 60 gig.
I need to know a model number/Brand etc. from one of you that have done this.
I am having trouble locating one that is the recomended 1/2 thickness of conventional units.
What do they call it (Low profile etc.)
Thanx

You shouldn't be having any problem finding a replacement drive for the 788. It's just a standard half-height drive like this 40gb 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda or this 80gb 7200 rpm Barracuda.

There's some debate over 5400 rpm vs 7200 rpm. Both are fast enough for the 788, though 7200 rpm will produce more heat. I replaced my factory with the 40 gb 7200 Barracuda. They're quiet.

Most hard drives are low profile these days I believe.

I put in a 60g Hitachi from computer geeks and it's been great. Quiet too.

I guess I need to take it out and look at it.
I've probably built 10 computers in the last 2 years.
You're more than likely right on the money about the
size of the drives these days.
Thanks
