688 heads wont disengage

Hey everyone I just bought a Tascam 688. It would ffwd and rewind but not play. I replaced the capstan belt and the pinch roller. Now it will play but the heads wont disengage completely when I press stop, so it eats my tape.

The machine is still broken apart and I am trying to figure out what it is. The heads attempt to disengage but get "stuck". I have to apply a little bit of pressure with my hand for them to completely go down.

I was wondering if anyone knew what this might be? Is there another belt I should replace somewhere?

Turns out the previous owner must have dropped the unit or done something with extreme force to cause a piece on the transport assembly to bend and not allow the heads to come down. There were some ball bearings that were then able to come loose and slide underneath this piece halting movement even further..

I straightened it out, added a little bit of grease (the old grease was all dried up) and it seems to be good now!

This is my first time repairing something, and it was a little like brain surgery with the tiny parts.
