2 choices for vocals... SM-58 or SPB-1?

Hey all, tomorrow I'm recording a friend of mine, she plays piano and sings. I have basically two choices for the vocals (I'm using the B-1 for the piano), the SM-58 or the B-1. Naturally, I should try out both, but the problem is I don't have a pop filter for my B-1, so I don't know if her singing into it would damage it... what do you guys think? Which one sounds better for studio female vocals as it is? Thanks!!

id go with the b1, and have her about 2 feet away or so.
or you could go with both, have her sing with the 58 at about 6 inches or so.
And have the b1 behind the 58 about 2 feet back maybe.
It would be a cool sound i think.

The B1 has a life-time warranty (or for as long as PMI stays in business anyway)... I'd try both and not worry about it.

Also, you could try placing the B1 not directly infront of her mouth, but higher up, maybe as high as her forhead, and direct the mic slightly downwards, pointing at her mouth. This could prevent some "pop" noise. You can do pretty close micing with this technique aswell.
