A local radio station wants to broadcast one of our songs. The DJ told me to "do something to make it sound a little better" So i really need your advices. I've posted a thread with this song before, but now i've used some compressors, and i've rided some faders. It sounds kind of crowded to me...
What do you think guys?
Does recording with a compressor in real-time is the same with compression after the recording?
Is there any software compressor that could do this in real time?
Is there a big difference beetwen a software compressor and a hardware one?
Thanks
OK... we're a great rock band (from other people's opinions, not ours ), but our home recordings (demos) really suck. Could you listen to one of our songs and give me some advices on making it sound a little better? Meaning as a mixing and recording tehnique, not buying some real gear, 'cus...

Ok, i've seen a few Tascam m512 owners around... Does any of you have a manual.. Even a scanned one... I'm kind of new to this mixer, so there are some features that can't really understand...
Come on, we're a great rock band... and in a few years will get rich and famous :p :p :p and...
Ok, here's the deal... I've got a Tascam M512 12 (12 channels, 8 buss), and can exchange it on a Behringer mx1804x  and a audiotehnica condenser mic (at2020) the cheapest on the market, around 100 $ :p .
I'm recording bass, electric guitar, drum and vocals... and i'm kind of a novice...
