In my opinion I try to stay away from the computer as much as possible when it comes down to recording audio files. Maybe look into dedicated Audio CD recorder same thing as a tape deck, just a CD Recorder.
Unless you have a dedicated computer for doing music and that's all, it's sketchy as to...
Hope this topic isn't finished because I need some info from some of the masters in here.

Hey all,
Thanx for the advice and info. Like jimimac said, I would probably end up with both, I did end up with both.
Now......, figuring out how to correctly apply compression, so that I can control the bass and drums. Hmmmmmmmm.....
I like to have a lot of Fat and thick bass in my music.
I...
Hello all,
I am using the Tascam 414MKII for recording, but I have a simple problem. Channel 1 doesn't work. I enjoy recording in stereo, so that already takes up 2 channels, only one left, which I would use to put some vocals on.
I am sequencing from my computer. I guess my question is ...

I got everything running smoothely, but the time I was having problems with my stereo recording, I must have blown out channel one.
Is this even possible? I mean I used channel one the other day, and I thought I got a recording on it, and now I can't record anything on channel one. So I moved...
Hey Green Hornet
The beer is lovely, and not to expensive, just the way I like it!
But I got everything running smoothely, but the time I was having problems with my stereo recording, I must have blown out channel one.

I have had the Alesis QS6.1 for about a 9 months now, and I am in Love with it, but I still can't figure out how to properly use thetracking generator.
Can anyone give me some tips?

Ok,
I'm finally getting everything together. I usually record from my QS6.1 into my Tascam Multitracker.
I do have a CD recorder, and I am thinking about going into that from my multitracker. But before I go into CD recorder, I was thinking of either a compressor or EQ. Which One?
I am looking...
Well I just did try the 3&4 and sure enough it works as easily as everyone just said. So I guess my first channel is busted or something!
Still have a little a distortion. Very little actually. Wondering what I can do to change this. I've tried recording kinda low. Since my keyboard has a EQ...

I appreciate all the help, but that's what I've been doing hte whole time, is having my left out into my 1 MIC/LINE IN, and the right out into 2 MIC/LINE IN.
Honestly there might be something wrong with the first channel because I just don't get the recording on that track. I'll try 3&4 next.
You can store your mixes either on the synth or directly to a PC FLASH CARD, which goes for about 100 bucks or so.
You might want to even get one for the hell of it, you can really do a lot of neat things with them. Sometimes, I burn wav files onto the card, and create my own little program.
OK,
I'm really upset with this TASCAM 414 thing.
Either I'm screwing up with my inputs, but I just can't get a good stereo recording, the Bass is always distorted. I'm really about to say the heck with this thing and get a Fostex Digital 4-track.
I tried using the 3:00-9:00 position thing with...

Thanks for the info. I will try it...
I have a Tascam 414 MKII, and I use it to record guitar, and my keyboard.
As it is hooked up now, I have the left main out from my keuboard, going into the Left MIC/IN. And the same for the right main out, except going into the right MIC/IN. I have panned them accordingly so I could get a...
