well, whatever the problem was it went away on it's own. I changed the time signature to 8/8 and then it started working right; then I changed it back to 4/4 and it's still good. thanks for your input.
I'm brand new to sonar (6.2pe) and computer recording in general. The metronome which i assume indicates bpm is way too slow, and has been since i started using the program; I have to adjust it to over 200 to get a similar tempo of say 120bpm. Any ideas?
How do I download a daw software update if my daw is kept off the internet?
Should I download it into my web surfing computer, transfer it to disk and then install? I've just purchased sonar 6pe with a laptop and plan to keep it offline, and I know there'll be an update available soon. Thanks.
Currently I record into a yamaha 2816. I use a keyboard sequencer for drums
and program it out measure by measure. This is tedious; I'm considering buying a computer based DAW for several reasons, but my assumption is that adding drums maybe much simpler. I envision being able to track...
I put a replacement bridge (abr-1) on my LP, and it was the same way; uncut. I asked the guy a tonepros about this and he suggested I just run it without grooving them. I've played it this way for nearly a year with no problems, i.e. string slippage, intonation problems, etc.
I can't answer your question exactly, but I had a similar situation with a yamaha 2816. I bought an rnp, and was able to turn the gain on the yamaha down to zero, which supposedly makes it like a line-in input. It worked great for me, and I could definitely tell a difference for the better.
My r9 les paul buzzed, and I discovered it was the abr-1 bridge. These are apparently notorious for rattling. I replaced it with a tone pros abr bridge which promptly stopped all buzzing.
I had never played one of these guitars, but had the chance today. I forget the exact model, but it listed for around $2400/sale price 1700. I usually grab a martin or taylor in that price range, trying to figure out which one I will eventually buy, but I was far more impressed with this...
I've got a marshall 2x12 cabinet (1936) with celestion 75's. I am thinking about changing them out with a vintage 30 and a g12m. I read somewhere that this is a good combo of speakers for a 2x12, but I'm wondering if the speaker cab itself is subpar. In other words, would I be wasting good...
I'm thinking of getting a computer-based recording setup. Currently my studio is based around a aw2816. It seems that the digidesign 002 and motu/digital performer get a lot of press, but I can't really tell what the main differences are. Can anyone offer some comparisons? thanks.
My neighbor told me about these "studio monitor speakers" he has; they've just been sitting around his house unused. They are labelled "revox" and he says they are made by studer, and claims they cost several thousand dollars many years ago. I saw them and they are huge, and weigh a ton...
Yeah, I've still got the RNC. I haven't even used it once since my initial post. I plugged it up once since I bought it, so it's in perfect condition. I still have the original box. It's a great item, I just haven't needed an outboard compressor.
Does anyone else share this opinion? The new qotsa cd has a great drum sound; as far as rhythm and the actual sound. Of course Grohl was the drummer. Now, the new FF cd has what I consider to be a very mediocre drum sound, and even the rhythms sound like a drum machine. I'm surprised that...
Well, the 002 comes as either a rack version or a control surface. I have neither, but my understanding is that the rack is basically the instrument/computer interface plus the pro tools LE recording software. The control surface is all of the above plus it serves as a hardware mixing...
I have a question for you Green Hornet; you say you seldom use the internal pres on your 2816-- how do you bypass them? I've read where people turn down the gain on the internal pre and just use the gain from the external pre, but you're still running the signal through two pre's. So, it...
tws
I would go with either the 2816 or 4416. I have the former and have found it to be surprisingly simple to operate. The motorized faders are a definite plus. About the internal pre's, I really don't have a feel for their quality. I've wondered about getting a high quality mic pre, but...
I don't have one, but if I ever get into pc based recording, I'd definately get a control surface. I can feel my wrists getting "carpal tunnel-ish" just with occasional mouse use. I don't think they're that pricey because you're also getting A/D converters, sometimes a stand alone mixer, and...
