Check out barebone cases at Newegg, companies like Shuttle, Biostar and several others make shoe box side cases, they seem to work well and can be pretty sweet looking. Server cases are rack mountable so you can also look into those. Also you could look into a laptop.

I'm leaning towards ProTools and would like the Yamaha/1814 setup, but if the quality that much different I would look at different options.

I need software and an interface for a home studio. My budget is $1000 or less.
Software: Something that can run on both Mac and Windows. I like Protools software because thats what I learned on.
