I'm recording with a VS 880EX and on my channel 6 when I put it to record mode (red LED) it flashes red and green. What does this mean? Basically what I'm doing in bouncenig tracks to channel 6, and it wont let me. Thanks for any help.
Pan your track one 2 left and track 2 to right, and make sure your "line out" switch is positioned to where you need it.
ie: Mono = Both tracks on both sides
L/R = Panned positions
I didnt know where to put this thread so newbies will fit. My band and I are gonig to record a demo in studio, I know this is a home recording site but my tascam 424 dosent cut it when I don thave the right rooms and such. I was wondering if anyone here knows about Alchemy Studios or Sundae...
John Otto
I'd would have to say he is a under-rated drummer. He gets a bad rep. because of the shitty band he was in. He was not even a rock drummer, he was a jazz drummer gone rock because Sam Rivers (Bassist) asked his cousin, John, for a favour. I am in no means saying John is the best...
No expert either....
I'm no expert either, but I'd say the kick needs work. I love the snare and OH's. Bass seems flat, no slap and I think is resonates to much. Needs more punch I guess, but thats just how I like my kicks. Again I am not a expert haha.
At the top of the mixer section there is a switch with "mic/line", "off", and "tape". Mach sur eon playback yo uhave the tracks yo uwant to hear on "tape". I am pretty sure that is the problem.
Zildjian
I was in a few drum corps and played cymbals one year. We cleaned our cymbals every night with the Zildjian Cleaning cream. It does take the lettering off but they always look amazing. To this day after every show, practice, whatever I take my cymbals and clean them with that cream...
So it seems Megadeth are getting played out. I havent heard anything from the new CD, but it is sapposed to be back the the roots. I doubt it though. Also it seems Metallica and Megadeth are running a parallel these days. Both are abuseing the names they carry. Personally if the new Metallica CD...
Kind of pointless, but I dont hear much about Dave Mustaine. I mean yes he was in Megadeth and all that, but I wanna know what people around here think of him. He led a strange life from Satanism to making new records after the accident. Just want to hear others opinions I guess.
I have a OSM-800, never use it. I bought it off this forum actually,
https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=130821
I payed 100 CDN for it so I'll sell it for $60.00 CDN (about $48.00 US). The reason I'm selling it actually is that I am going to Mexico and I need extra cash. Want pics...
Last night I mic'd one of my guitarists amp with a SM57 and my other guitarist with a PG56. But after mixing we found the PG56 gave it a better sound. Is there any reasoning behind this? I used just a on-axis mic placment about a couple of inchs or so from the grill.
Thanks
Thanks Rokket, we'll try that. And as for killing me (the drummer) I guess we could but than my band would be out of jam space. Thanks again for the help, this forum is a great place to learn these things.
Hey guys, I search for this problem but I didnt find anything. First things first, the equipment I'm using is a Tascam 424 MKIII, SM 57, SHURE drum mic kit, and a audio buddy if needed. My problem is that I cant hear my rhythm guitar when recording drums so we always get out of time. I was just...
I'll be careful from now on buying anything off the internet. I bought a mic of this forum and its a bust. Dosent work, in fact the little punk who I bought it from said he was going to send the stand and pop-stopper and didnt. So I suggest being careful of buying off the internet.
Tried to yes, but I found out that that didnt work haha. I think i've solved the problem though. But I do need to know why my levels on the recorded tape are so low? I am not using a high bias tape right now, though I did buy some. Is it the tape? I have all the inputs all the way to the right...
So I'm new to 4 track recording. I tried searching for this topic but I never found one. I record with my 424 and then transfer it to my computer via "line out" and than into my sound card on my computer. My problem is that I need to find a way to moniter the tracks I transfer when recording...
