sorry I'm posting this here, I'm not shure where else to post this....
anyways there a song I heard on the radio that goes something like this:
(chorous)
here we are, we are face to face
(bla bla)
(-something that rhymes with here we are)(something that rhymes with face to face)
and then it...
I wrote these lyrics just now, it might just be that I'm tired, but, I like the story.. I just don't like the way I worded it. it's suppose to be about this kid who writes "the best song in the world" but since he's such a bad singer it gets passed off as garbage..
here :
his name was some one...
Sorry for reviving this thread from the dead..
I finally got back into my "studio", and quickly re-did the whole song, same link, same song (I just updated it) (TRCK) any critique welcome :)
here's my fairly quick attempt, I'm not %100 happy with it.. but then again, I doubt I ever will be... any all feedback is appreciated (sorry for using soundclick, but lightning Mp3 never accepts my files for some reason)
cheers.

I'm sure I've read threads on this before, but I can't find any right now.. So I'll start a new thread.
I'm a novice recording engineer (In my opinion). I've been recording my band for several years, but I would like to record other bands as well, but recently I was thinking.. There are a lot...
to be honest I'm not much of a stickle for tone.
I have multiple guitars to show my progress, my first ever guitar is a small beat-up accustic I got for free on wich I learn picking and fingering and a few basic chords. my second guitar is the first guitar I bought, a fender strat clone, for my...
what are the names to the diffrent parts of recording?
this is what I "think" there called.. am I correct? or am I mistaken?
setting up mics = engineering
setting levels on all the tracks
adding EQ/compression, ect = Tracking
final brush-up/exporting = mastering
keeping an eye out over the...
My procedure
ok, I've got some time to kill before my next class, so I'll post my procedure (plus I think the Idea behind this thread is a good one)
1: make shure drums are in tune, set up properly ect. (so the drummer feels comfortable)
2: I go thru drum by drum setting up a mic, record a...
looks like you've got a good Idea of what to do
yes, at a quick glance all of those interfaces look like they would be fine.
yes you "can" go from the XLR to the 1/4, but I would not recommend it (you loose the ground, so it's more likely to pick up noise) and also I didn't read all of the...
what amp or pedal has the same distortion type as the Quadrafuzz in cubase SX? (more specifically the Guitar preset, it's got a nice clean crisp crunch I LOVE!)
any sugestions would be awsome, Thanks!
Elton Bear: well, you won't be getting much more out of it, It would basicly be playing from a music sheet with the CD but the music sheet moves, and tells you weather or not you hit the right not at the right time.
tojo: do you have a link to this Program?
Greg_L: well, that's the point. I...
well I was just kinda looking at the Rock band thing... and I got an Idea.
hook up pizzo triggers to the bottom of all my toms and symbals, hook it up to my computer, program a "game" that takes a midi drumfile (lets say from guitar pro) and instead of hitting fake triggers to let sound out of...
I had a pretty nice mixing desk back at my parent's place, but now I have moved, and I couldn't take it with me, so I'm building a new one, better than before! here is my design (it's not to scale, but it's a good reference for me):
(for some sort of reason is scaled down my picture... sorry...
ok, since I don't have headphones, I just used speakers to play drums to a refrence track, how can I "phase change" out the reference track from the drum tracks?
thanks :)
