    M-Audio KeyStudio

I just bought a M-Audio KeyStudio. It installed easily, and shows up as a USB Audio Device in my device manager. However, it does not show up as a MIDI controller in my recording software. Help?

Cubase VST performance meter running to high?

Yeah there's a control panel for the Mackie. I have it selected to 44.1khz and 24ms, 1024 samples. That's the lowest I can go. If I go higher, it just gets worse.

Cubase VST performance meter running to high?

I'm using a Mackie Onyx 1620 mixer with the firewire card. I'm recording at 44.1khz, 24ms, 1024 samples.

Cubase VST performance meter running to high?

I just purchased Cubase 4, and the VST Performance ASIO meter is maxing out when I use a single HALion One instrument track. I don't know why it's working my computer so hard. My PC has 2GB of RAM, 2.4GHz Pentium 4 Processor, Windows XP, and I use a separate 7200 RPM hard drive for the Cubase...

    M-Audio Keystation?

Do I have to purchase a USB to MIDI adapter to use the M-Audio Keystation 61es with my VST instruments? It connects to the computer via USB so I wasn't sure if I would still need to purchase USB to MIDI adapter. Thanks!

Adding a sub to my monitor setup?

I currently use two Wharfedale Diamond Pro 8.2a Active Monitors. Can I add a KRK subwoofer to my setup, or do I need to use matching speakers and subwoofer? Will this affect my level of accurate referencing? Thanks.

    Switch to Pro Tools?

Thanks for all the replies. I'll be attending college next year as a music major and also hope to study the recording arts. I was considering getting some experience with the Pro Tools system, being that it is the standard in most major studios. Also, you can hear a recording I made last...

    Switch to Pro Tools?

Thanks for the replies. How does ADAT work? :o Also, I was thinking another alternative may be switching to Cubase instead. The main reason I'm interested in purchasing a Pro Tools system is to gain experience using more "professional" or "standard" recording software. Has anyone used Cubase...

    Switch to Pro Tools?

I'm undecided on whether or not to switch to a Pro Tools system, or upgrade my current Mackie Trackion system. Currently I use Mackie's Onyx 1620 with the firewire card and Mackie's Tracktion version 2. It allows me to record up to 16 different tracks at once, plenty of processing power...

    Splitting a guitar signal?

Thanks for all the replies. I need to split a signal to run my guitar to a guitar amp, and a bass amp. The bass amp has a "sub harmonic" feature which gives the guitar a really fat sound. (Sounds like a guitar and bass with only one guitar)

    Splitting a guitar signal?

How would I split a guitar signal so it can run to two different amplifiers? Thanks.

    Aux and Reverb Unit????

OK, I found the problem. I had my Aux Master cranked up all the way and it was distorting the signal. :o It appears the Aux Sends on the Mackie are Mono. Yet the Returns are stereo. When I plugged a 1/4 stereo into the send and ran it to the nanoverb, all I got was left channel.

    Aux and Reverb Unit????

Thanks for the reply. Ok, I think I've found the problem. It's not the Alesis, or the Aux Returns. It's the Aux send. It must have something to do with the cable I'm using or how its hooked up, I'm not sure. I must not be using the correct type of cable. Below is a little diagram of how I'm...

    Aux and Reverb Unit????

I'm trying to figure out how to connect an Alesis NanoVerb to my Mackie Onyx 1620. I’ve run the Aux Send to the Alesis Inputs and the Alesis Outputs to the Aux Returns. However, the signal is distorted and I don’t understand why. It's not because the input level on the Alesis is cranked up to...
